Time Out Says
This bar, up on the 24th floor of the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, is right next to the Burj Al Arab and gives a stunning look over Umm Suqeim out to the skyscrapers of Downtown Dubai.
The bar isn’t busy on our visit, but there are still plenty of couples crouched together admiring the view and sipping on drinks. We can understand the attraction, as this spot is undeniably perfect for a date night – it’s fancy, without being stuffy, and if you sit outside you can get blankets that adds to the cosiness factor. But the inside area is just as nice and offers an even better view of the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah.
And if you’re a woman, head here on ladies’ night, every Tuesday, where you’ll get two hours of unlimited sparkling grape and the servers are anything but stingy.
If you get peckish, there’s a tapas menu offering up jalapeño poppers and empanadas, and the prices are what you’d expect from a bar like this at around Dhs35 each. The bar plays an extremely eclectic mix of music, ranging from Arabic tunes to cheesy pop, but it’s very chilled out and not so loud that it will drown out conversation.
This spot is definitely somewhere we’d visit again, bringing along friends from overseas, visiting parents or even a partner. There’s an extensive mixed drinks menu, starting at Dhs85, and it’s an ideal to spot head for a relaxed drink before heading to a busier spot.
The views alone are worth every dirham.
