The bar of multiple award-winning restaurant Zuma

Time Out Says

There are many things that keep us coming back time and again to Zuma. That black cod. The deliciously garlicky grilled lobster. The super-fresh and moreish sushi. The mega Friday brunch (which is currently our Best Brunch 2018).

But it’s not just about the food when it comes to the Japanese juggernaut that is Zuma.

The bar is also worth a visit. Of course, we’d prefer to pair it with a trip to the restaurant, but it’s still a spot to slide into if you’re in the area.

Zuma was set up by German chef Rainer Becker in London in 2002 and it’s gone from strength-to-strength over the years – with outposts now all over the world. This year Zuma Dubai celebrates its tenth anniversary, which for a restaurant in this city is a considerable landmark. And it’s thanks to its consistency that people return time and again. It’s always excellent, and you’re guaranteed a good time.

Unlike some venues, Zuma is relaxed and upbeat, with a buzzing bar area, which gets especially busy post-brunch with buoyant diners looking to carry on the Friday party.

The décor is trendy and chic, with dark woods and latticing, and the bar is well-stocked with a range of grape and mixed drinks. Drinks, as you’d expect, are on the pricey side, however.

For a pre-dinner, post-brunch or after-work drink in DIFC it’s definitely worth dropping by.
