Real aromatherapy experience

The spa: The Address Dubai Mall’s spa has nine treatment rooms, steam rooms and sauna, hydrotherapy facilities, a hair studio and relaxation areas – but we personally loved the large changing room, and spent a leisurely time getting changed afterwards.

Step by step: After a thorough brief and rumination over which of the 12 oils we preferred (we decided on those to help balance hormones and eradicate stress – they smelled the nicest), we both lay back and enjoyed the medium-strength massage. The music was soft and the treatment was so relaxing we struggled to stay conscious. Afterwards we took our time with a cup of tea in the relaxation area.

Pros
• The service is top-notch – friendly and considerate – and the massage extremely calming.

Cons
• You have to pay Dhs150 if you want to hang out by the hotel’s pool afterwards.
Dhs450 each for 55 minutes. The Address Dubai Mall, Downtown Burj Khalifa (04 438 8888).
