Ayurvedic massage in Dubai

We try a holistic therapy at the Breath and Health spa

Upon entering the Breath and Health spa and wellness centre, it’s a surprise to find such a pleasant, calming space in the heart of Jumeirah, off the dusty Al Wasl Road. Well-chosen décor, heavy on earthy, neutral tones, immediately relaxes the senses, as the Ayurvedic doctor bustles over to discuss which type of oil will work best for you. If you have a slight cold or weak immune system, they offer an alternative to the traditional oil, as this is alleged to worsen colds in those who are already feeling a little under the weather. Strange, but supposedly true. Before long, you’re whisked away to a treatment room upstairs, and it’s time to stretch out on a massage table. Whether you opt for a 30 minute or 60 minute treatment, the massage extends beyond just the head to the neck and upper back, using the chosen medicated oils designed to eradicate any tension you’re carrying and rebalance your natural energy. It’s worth noting your hair (if you let them do it properly) will be extremely oily afterwards, but it’s nothing a few shampoos at home won’t sort, and by the time your session is over, you’ll be convinced it’s worth it.
