Fight against skin cancer in Dubai

How to take proper precautions in the sun

For Dubai residents (and anyone else who lives in sunny climes), taking precautions against skin cancer should be high on the list of priorities. You can do your bit by making sure you always wear sunscreen – yes, even
in winter. Dubai clinic Aesthetics International is now doing its bit to help prevent and fight skin cancer with the introduction of MoleMate. The high-tech system – the only one in the region – can apparently detect skin cancer with a simple, non-invasive screening, with 95 percent detection rate. The clinic is also increasing its emphasis on women’s health with the arrival of a new doctor, who will examine biomarkers in women to help detect a predisposition towards cancer, cardiovascular disease and Alzheimer’s.

It may still be December, but new year detox offers are already popping up across town. Raffles Spa will be offering a 60-minute Marine Detox Discovery session using spirulina, while The Spa at The Address Dubai Marina is offering guests a Super Detox Wrap for the new year, featuring a green tea scrub and a de-stressing muscle release massage.

Finally this week, Pevonia’s new dry oil body moisturiser (pictured right) is working wonders on our skin through the cooler months – it’s a grease-free Christmas miracle. Until next time, namaste – and merry Christmas!
