New flu jab drive in Dubai

Find out if you should be vaccinated against the virus

Jetting off somewhere nice this winter? If you’re spending time surrounded by strangers in close proximity on an aeroplane or in the airport, you might benefit from Synergy’s new flu jab drive. The medical centre is encouraging those who fall under ‘high-risk’ categories to get vaccinated, including those with a BMI of more than 40, diabetes sufferers, the elderly and pregnant women. Call the centre on 04 348 5452 to find out if you should be vaccinated against the virus.

There is much to look forward to in the new year, including the launch of yoga and Pilates sessions at The Farm in the exclusive Al Barari community. Single and group sessions will be available in the grounds, with prices starting from Dhs75, and The Farm will also be serving specially tailored breakfasts for yogis to boost their energy and refuel after the sessions, with an emphasis on superfoods free from gluten, dairy, soy and sugar.

Elsewhere, celebrity dentist Dr Apa, who will apparently be visiting Dubai in February, has launched his own blog, where you can find tips on maintaining your pearly-whites. The blog also advertises his love of Ferraris – though we’re not sure how it relates to keeping your teeth clean.

Across Dubai’s dance studios, there seems to be one company constantly planning a new launch. James & Alex in Media City has already brought us ballet for adults, and is now set to launch hip hop classes, with
15 percent off until the end of February.

Wishing a very happy, peaceful new year to all! Namaste.
