Halina Myers tries the La La Express lashes at Sisters Beauty Lounge

Tried & tested

Halina Myers tries the new La La Express Eyelash Extensions at Sisters Beauty Lounge.

The Promise
This express service promises long, luscious lashes that last for up to two weeks.

Step by Step
I take my place upon the therapy bed with the tranquil hum of a ‘Wild Birds and Waterfalls’ CD playing in the background. I opt for the voluminous over the natural style, hoping to come out with super bushy lashes. My therapist then sets to work, priming my eyes by removing any makeup and oil. She begins gluing individual lashes of varying lengths, using a 10 second odourless adhesive. My newly-acquired lashes are then sealed with Lash Perfect Mascara. I’m given a list of after-care guidelines and told to come back two to three weeks later for them to be removed.

The Results
After having used store-bought falsies before, I expected my lashes would feel heavy and unnatural. I was wrong. They feel no different to my natural lashes, but they look long, black and voluminous.

Pros
• The in-mall location and super-quick service means you can extend your lashes while you shop.

Cons
• My therapist forgot to show on my first appointment and I had to reschedule.
