Wellness news in Dubai

A new wellbeing centre, barnacle busting and Rita Ora's nail collection

Residents of TECOM need not travel too far now to find an enclave of calm amid the chaotic construction going on in the area. Miracles Wellbeing Center (www.miraclesworldwide.com) has recently opened its doors, offering reiki healing classes, crystal therapy, feng shui, hypnotherapy and more. The venue also offers wellbeing and holistic programmes for large corporations and even children, including yoga for kids. If you’re not quite sure which path to take, contact them for a free consultation so they can recommend the best treatment or therapy for your situation.

Meanwhile, if you like to take matters into your own hands when it comes to your feet, this one’s for you. A German product designed especially for barnacle-footed folk is now available in Dubai for the first time at Al Barsha venue Galina’s Beauty Salon (04 341 8851), among other places. Balsan callus lotion contains ingredients effective in treating calluses, cuticles and cracked heels, and can be done from home. Simply remove the product after 20 minutes and remove any nasties with a special spatula-like tool. The in-salon service costs Dhs50, while the take-home kit will only set you back Dhs170.

Lastly, British pop damsel Rita Ora has joined forces with the high-street beauty brand Rimmel London (04 339 9383) in order to create a capsule lip and nail colour collection, which will be launched in 2014. Set to hit stores in June of next year, I think we can expect the palette to be just as loud as her music.

Until next week, namaste.
