Tried & tested

Hayley Skirka books in for the customised Harmony Package at DIFC’s chic ladies’ only Spa Cordon.

The promise
A 90-minute customised treatment where you can choose a combination of massage and facial, body scrub and facial or scrub and massage.

Step by step
Smack bang in the middle of DIFC, Spa Cordon manages to retain a sense of calm and exclusivity from the minute you step through the doors. We love the design of the spa, with lots of trickling water, calming music and a sense of being outdoors. We tried the sauna, steam room and whirlpool and were even given a freshly made cucumber eye pillow to wear while relaxing in the Jacuzzi. The treatment itself starts with a ‘solemn massage’, which was one of the best we’ve ever had in the city. Long, soothing strokes with a strong, but not too firm pressure, saw us drift into a state of pure relaxation. For the facial, the therapist picked items from the range of natural products to customise it to our skin type. We were also treated to a bonus scalp massage before delicious fruit kebabs smothered in yoghurt and cinnamon were served in the relaxation room.

The result
We feel energised, relaxed and our skin is glowing. The changing rooms are so well equipped that we were able to make ourselves presentable enough to head straight to dinner.

Pros
• Great location.
• The amount of choice guests are given for treatments, from choosing the type of oil used to the soundtrack playing.

Cons
• There are none.
