Two relaxing days of yoga led by resident instructor Vijay Sharma as well as beach and pool access, a 90-minute spa treatment, a skin analysis, two breakfasts, a juicing class and yoga theory session.
Step by step
The yoga retreat kicks off on Thursday evening with a sunset session overlooking Jumeirah Beach. It’s still toasty outside but the breeze keeps any discomfort at bay. The next morning we arrive bright and early for the hatha yoga class, which focuses on breathing and is challenging, successfully boosting our heart rate. Breakfast is served at the beach bar and features an impressive spread of gluten-free muffins, fresh fruit, fresh coconut water, yoghurt and muesli, compliments of resident wellness aficionado Chef Gabi Kurz. The evening yoga classes are more relaxed and throughout the day there is plenty of opportunity to make like you’re on holiday, chilling on beach sunbeds or in the pool. There is also the option to stay at the hotel, which we would highly recommend for extra comfort and convenience. Our only gripe is that the package doesn’t include meals, which would make the experience feel more whole and encourage socialising with your fellow yogis.
We feel physically stronger and the weekend seems to crawl by, making it feel even more like a mini-break. We start the next week as fresh as a daisy, with plenty of new yoga knowledge under our belts.

• The computerised skin analysis doesn’t really fit with the rest of the programme and seems counterproductive to the other self-loving elements of the retreat.
