Beauty chauffeuring and new hair heroes in Dubai

This week we discover new Dubai hair heroes, a beauty chauffering service and sign up to overcome our fear of flying.

It’s all about hair in Dubai this week, starting with news that French hairdressing and beauty brand Dessange (04 602 1663) is now fully open and operational in Dubai’s Park Hyatt, offering styling services and products. Meanwhile, haircare specialist Garnier has launched a brand new dry shampoo that promises not only to give your hair back its ‘just washed’ look, but also banish day-to-day odours such as the smell of smoke and food. Suitable for use on all hair types, all you need to do is hold the can 15cm away and spray onto your roots. Two minutes later, brush your hair and you’re good to go. The best part? At Dhs20 it’s super-affordable, and available from all major supermarkets across Dubai.

Elsewhere, your grooming routine just got dramatically more effecient. Sisters Beauty Lounge (www.sistersbeautylounge.com) and driver service Uber (www.uberdubai.com) have partnered up to offer a 25 percent discount on salon services to those who use Uber to get to their appointment. Additionally, those who register with Uber will get a starting credit worth Dhs120.

Finally, British Airways’ Flying with Confidence course (www.flyingwithconfidence.com) returns to Dubai on Monday October 20, priced at Dhs2,000 per person. The very aptly named Captain Steve Allright will explain the technical side of aviation safety, alongside a demonstration of relaxation and anxiety management techniques by a counsellor specialising in the fear of flying.
