Farewell to a favourite spa and try some new year beauty bargains

This week we bid a sad farewell to a great little salon spot, plus check out deals and beauty buys for the month of January.

We begin this week with some sad news. Dubai’s only eco-friendly, organic and all-natural salon Organic Glow Beauty Lounge has been forced to vacate its Al Wasl Road home, with the plot and its neighbours being sold off to make way for a larger commercial centre. Fortunately, fans of the salon will still be able to book treatments, as OGBL will be offering at-home services until it finds a new permanent location to set up. Appointments with the toxic-free, cruelty-free, vegan salon can be made by emailing

Want to start 2015 with discounts on dancing? Café De La Danse studio (04 331 1543) on Al Wasl Road is offering 50 percent off two classes of your choice until Saturday January 10. All you need to do is Mention ‘I love Café De La Danse’ when booking. Later this year, the studio will also be launching its online store, where you’ll be able to purchase a wide range of accessories.

One of Time Out Dubai’s favourite inner-city sanctuaries, Amara Spa, is also offering a tempting package this month. The Rose of Arabia is designed to cleanse and relax, and includes a 30-minute bamboo body polish, a 60-minute rose oil massage and a meal from the spa’s healthy menu. The package costs Dhs950 (normally Dhs1,275) and if you thought Christmas was over, think again – this one includes a special gift worth Dhs200 for you to take home.

Finally, this month’s bathroom beauty cabinet buy – label.m intensive mask – promises a detox for your hair by restoring your tresses to their best. It costs Dhs83 and is available now from Toni & Guy, DIFC.

Until next week, namaste.
