New flotation centre in Dubai and a new hair care oil

This week we check into a relaxing floatation centre, and check out new products and services in the city.

There’s no shortage of wildly stressed out people in this town, but a soothing Balinese massage isn’t the perfect solution for everyone. Point Zero Floatation Center (04 457 9991), now open near DIFC, hopes to provide an alternative. With celebrities and footballers including Wayne Rooney said to be fans of floatation tanks, and the company’s first Abu Dhabi branch already a big success, the owners are surely optimistic about the potential uptake in Dubai. The new Point Zero is home to floatation cabins and pods (from Dhs350 per session), plus spa bikes (from Dhs200 per session).

Elsewhere, BdB Blodrybar in Motor City (04 447 3826) has announced it will now be offering cuts and colours, as well as its existing range of blow-dry and styling options.

On the product front this week, beauty brand Jergens has unveiled a new look and product range, featuring hydralucence blend technology designed to eliminate dry, dull patches, with products available in major supermarkets across the city. Meanwhile, KeraStraight has unveiled a new ‘ultimate oil’, which aims to repair hair from the inside out, and counts argan and coconut oils among its ingredients. Pick up a bottle now
from Pastels Salons (www.pastels-salon.com) for Dhs186.

Finally, if you’re looking for some pre-Valentine’s Day pampering, check out The Nail Spa’s (600 544 001) ‘Love Yourself’ package, featuring a classic red mani-pedi, Let’s Go strip lashes, a minty chocolate sole scrub and a free box of chocolates. At Dhs310 and a 70-minute turnaround, what’s not to love?

Until next week, namaste.
