Valentine's nail art in Dubai

Brighten your finger nails with February 14th inspired designs

Valentine’s is on the horizon and love is in the air. Holly Sands gets in the mood with The Nail Spa’s new art.

The promise
Among many Valentine’s Day offerings, grooming chain The Nail Spa is dishing out special nail art designs – and at Dhs15 a nail, it’s one of the more affordable ways to get into the spirit of things on February 14.

Step by step
We’re escorted to our seat and introduced to nail technician and, as it turns out, nail artist extraordinaire Che, who begins by examining our nails. Once we’ve apologised for the fact we accidentally bit most of them off during the stressful week that elapsed after we’d booked the manicure, Che begins filing, de-cuticling and buffing our sad, childlike little stubs. There are four different art styles to choose from and we opt for the one we think will work best on our small nails – a tiny heart over a white strip that feels faintly reminiscent of Alice
in Wonderland.

The result
We’re bowled over by the neatness of the end result, all down to Che’s super-steady hands. Having opted for art on one nail on each hand, with a romance-red polish on the rest, the result is cute and subtle.

• It’s an affordable option if you’re looking to glam up or treat yourself this Valentine’s Day.

• This is easily the most well-executed nail art we’ve had done anywhere in Dubai.

• We wish the oh-so-relaxing hand massage lasted a bit longer.
