A full set of extensions applied to suit your tastes – go dramatic, low-key or somewhere in the middle. Extensions are applied directly to your own individual lashes.
Step by step
After discussing how we want the extensions to look (like a great mascara), we recline and are told to relax and even go to sleep while our technician works. As anyone with a little prior knowledge will be aware, the painstaking process can take up to two hours, but we’re assured that we might even be out in 60 minutes. Attempting to relax while they’re applied is tricky, as the application ends up being a little prickly at times, and our eyes water. Once the first eye is completed, we have a look and give the okay before the second is done.
The look is as dramatic as we’d like, and only a handful of extensions-savvy friends realise it’s not just a new mascara. There’s a little discrepancy between the two sets (one eye has straighter, longer lashes, the others are curlier so appear shorter) but this is apparently only noticeable to us. After a week, the lashes begin flaking out. By the end of week two, they’re looking oddly sparse so we remove them with oil-based make-up remover.
• There’s no need to fuss around with make-up for a week.
• They’re pricey and the aftercare product is an additional Dhs100+.
