Dubai wellness news

Eyebrow-raising classes, bargain de-stressing and new green tea skincare

Thought you’d heard it all? So did we, until Dubai’s Milan Pole Dance Studio (04 430 3693) in Jumeirah Lakes Towers announced it is to add ‘baby pole’ (baby pole! Really!) to its class schedule. Aimed at children aged eight to 14, classes are apparently designed to help develop grace, strength and control – using a dance pole.

In less divisive well-being news this week, Pure Fitness ( is offering indoor BuggEfit classes for mums with babies in buggies. Held every Tuesday and Thursday at Fitness First in The Meadows and Sundays at Impact Studio in Motor City, classes cost Dhs50 each, and are designed to help tone up the parts of the body that suffer most from the impact of pregnancy and childbirth.

Fancy a spot of pampering soon? Check out Millennium Plaza Hotel Dubai’s new spa deal. Infinity Health Club and Spa (04 387 7112) in the Sheikh Zayed Road Hotel is offering a 60-minute de-stress massage and 30-minute facial for Dhs365 until May 15.

Elsewhere, green tea appears to be the ingredient du jour when it comes to body lotions and skincare. The Body Shop is the latest to jump on the antioxidant-laden bandwagon with the launch of its new Fuji Green Tea range. Choose from products including cleansers, moisturisers, fragrances and more, all featuring green tea from Japan’s Mount Fuji region, and available at stores across Dubai.

Until next week, namaste.
