Aromatherapy in Dubai

Unwind with a 90-minute aromatherapy massage at The Pearl Spa

The promise
The classic aromatherapy massage is designed to relax muscles and promote health and wellbeing.

Step by step:
Following a cleansing salt water foot scrub we pick our massage oil – ‘balance’ containing lime, apricot and almond oils – from a selection that includes ‘inspire’, with ylang ylang, rose and grapefruit oils, ‘connect’, which contains cypress and geranium, and ‘nurture’, which consists of a fragrant blend of cardamom, mandarin and frankincense. Our therapist works on the knots in our most tense areas – neck and shoulders. She focuses on pressure points to relive tension, while gradually applying the hot oil to areas of our back and working it into our skin.

The result
The various strokes and techniques used aren’t particularly rigorous, which allows us to drift off into a state of sheer relaxation. We feel that the massage leaves us with an improved mood, if not an entirely less twisted back.

Pros:
• It’s a soothing experience that leaves us feeling truly zen.

Cons:
• Being chronically ticklish, the sensation of the hot oil making contact with our skin is distracting at times.
• If you’re hoping for any particularly tight knots to be worked out, this treatment may not necessarily be for you.
