Five ways to keep your new year's resolutions

Time Out Dubai is here to help, with advice on how to keep new year's resolutions, including buddy training, target setting and more health and fitness tips

1 Pick the right ones
Setting yourself impossible goals will only end in despair, so only choose targets that are feasible.

2 Plan ahead
Waking up on New Year’s Day and suddenly deciding to quit smoking is unlikely to work. Get rid of all your paraphernalia as early as possible.

3 Team up with a buddy
Making a lifestyle change can be extremely daunting, especially if you’re going solo. Find a friend who has the same resolution and work at it together.

4 Set clear targets
Draw up a step-by-step checklist, be it weekly or monthly, so you can have something tangible to aim for and a way of tracking your progress.

5 Think of the benefits

Losing your drive is a danger, especially when it comes to losing weight. Keep imagining how great you’ll feel at the end of your endeavours and how happy it will make your loved ones, too.
