Anti-stress express HydroPeptide facial at NStyle Beauty Lounge
Stressed from the daily grind? Said daily grind not allowing you any time off? An express facial is what you need. This HydroPeptide one helps to balance stressed skin, while echinacea stem cells provide deep hydration. Finally a papaya enzyme mask exfoliates for radiance and elasticity. So you might be stressed, but at least you won’t look it.
Dhs250 (25 minutes). Open daily 10am-10pm. Various locations including Cluster X, JLT (04 450 5130).

Facial workout at Sisters Beauty Lounge
If you’re short on time, this “compact, results-driven” facial is for you. The 30-minute “facial workout” (one that thankfully doesn’t involve sweating or Lycra) incorporates facial massage, aiming to get skin firmer and

Instant glow in-chair at The Nail Spa

Not just for nails, The Nail Spa also has a wide range of massages and facials, too. The famous Bee-Sting version (using bee venom and Manuka honey) is a little out of our price range for this list at Dhs500, but the instant glow certainly isn’t. Just Dhs160 for a 20-minute treatment, this is a “facial in a flash”. The aim is to brighten and boost skin by using alpha and beta hydroxy acids to provide a “long-lasting radiant glow”. Sounds delightful to us.
Dhs160 (20 minutes). Opening times vary. Various locations including The Dubai Mall, www.thenailspa.com.

Mini facial at The White Room

Another one that’s great if you’re pushed for time (and dirhams) this mini facial is a steal at just Dhs100. It’ll only take 30 minutes, so you can even get it done alongside your mani, if you’re multitasking. Perfect for after work, or even in your lunch break.
Dhs100 (30 minutes). Opening times vary. Various locations including Ibn Batutta Mall, www.thenailspa.com.

Anti-fatigue shoulder and back massage at Lily Pond Spa

One of the more established spas in Dubai (setting up in 2007), Lily Pond Spa draws on Balinese traditional elements. The whole experience attempts to bring the outdoors inside (we think that means making a natural, fresh environment). This back and shoulder massage is a perfect pick me up, and at just Dhs250 for 75 minutes is a complete bargain, too. Or if you’re in a rush, try out the equally bargainous mini-facial, which is a snip at just Dhs80 for 20 minutes.
Dhs250 (75 minutes). Open daily 9am-10pm. Lily Pond Spa, Various locations including Al Barsha Mall (04 385 0443).

ESPA massage at SPA InterContinental Dubai Marina
Want a full body massage at a not-so-full price? This summer you can get an ESPA massage for a bargainous Dhs300 at SPA, InterContinental Dubai Marina. Chill out in the steam room (not literally, it’s pretty hot in there) or use the infinity pool before or after your treatment, too. The Marina views are stunning and the in-pool loungers are ideal for cooling off. This is one to book, pronto.

This spa promotes an environmental approach and uses organic products. The brand “cares for protecting the earth and maintaining an affinity with nature”. The full-body aromatherapy massage is a relaxing treatment that uses 100 percent pure essential oils to help soothe and relax you.
Dhs300 (60 minutes). Open Mon-Sat 10am-8pm; Fri noon-7pm; closed Sun. Jumeirah Village Circle (055 234 1429).

Hot stone massage at Yin Yang
These massages work to rid the body of tension and anxiety. Typically made of basalt, the iron-rich stones retain heat. They’re heated to around 49˚C to 54˚C, before being placed on points along the spine, palms and legs, where the warmth helps to relax the muscles, thereby giving a deeper massage. Warm, cosy and relaxing. Definitely one to try.
Dhs250 (60 minutes). Open daily 10.30am-11pm. Various locations including The Walk, JBR, www.yinyang.ae.

Ladies’ night at So SPA

You’ll get a 30-minute back, neck and shoulder massage, plus a manicure and complimentary nibbles and smoothies. You can also take advantage of full use of the facilities (think giant Jacuzzi, rainforest showers and ice fountain) for just Dhs250. A top deal, and a really fun night out (trust us).

Royal Thai Massage at Dreamworks Spa
Never had a Thai massage? You’re missing out. We’re not going to lie, it’s not your regular kind, but this energising treatment will see you contorted into a range of yoga-like stretches as part of the process. Don’t be put off, it’s still relaxing, but it’s invigorating, too. It’ll restore balance and aims to increase the circulation of the blood and eliminate toxins. Want an even bigger bargain? Visit the Motor City, Palm Jumeirah or Ibis World Trade Centre branches on a Sunday and you’ll get a 60-minute Balinese massage for just Dhs149.

Nail Care

Classic Nails Combo at We Nails
“Think Like a Lady, Act Like a Boss” calls We Nails. While we don’t believe the two are mutually exclusive, this Marina salon is worth a visit. We suggest the classic combo where a mani and pedi will set you back just Dhs150. Slick, moody interiors make this a stylish spot to get your nails in shape.
Dhs150. Open daily 10am-9pm. Dubai Marina (04 452 8226).

Essential Manicure at N-Bar
One of the most popular nail bar chains in Dubai, the first branch at Palm Strip Mall opened up back in 2000, and the brand has grown steadily since. With decent prices and a modern look, it’s on the list of must-visit places to polish up. It also hosts parties (gather the bridesmaids) and has a full “mini menu” for the smaller beauty-lovers in your life. Plus this 30-minute essential manicure is a steal at just Dhs75. Coconut glow body scrub at De La Mer Day Spa
Skin in Dubai has a lot to deal with – sun, sand and humidity. That’s why you need a body scrub once in a while. De La Mer Day Spa has a range of scrubs, but our pick is this coconut glow. Everyone knows the benefits of coconut (from oils to water) and this is no exception. The treatment sloughs away dead skin cells, and is especially recommended for dry skin, due to coconut’s natural, hydrating qualities. The 60-minute scrub targets dry areas including elbows, knees and shoulders and, all importantly, also includes a free 15-minute back, neck and shoulder massage. Lovely.

Talise Ottoman Spa is worth visiting if you’ve not been before. It’s the biggest in Dubai, and its grand layout houses an indoor pool, ice cave, Jacuzzis, two saunas, a steam room and more.
