Hopping in and out of one air-conditioned offices and suffering through the humidity of evening al fresco dinners had wreaked havoc on my skin. So when I heard about Raffles signature Customised Correcting Facial I just had to try it out. Using Kerstin Florian products, which are so popular in Tinseltown that they are often found in Oscar goody bags, the therapist began the treatment by analysing my skin and telling me exactly what it needed. Once the evaluation was complete he applied a series of specially chosen gels, milks, muds, scrubs and creams to cleanse, tone, exfoliate and hydrate my face.
The sense that this was no ordinary facial was boosted by the inclusion in the treatment of a choice between a glycolic peel and an enzyme peel, which are designed to treat problems such as uneven skin tones, fine lines and enlarged pores. Both peels are even available for those with skin that is really damaged.
The best thing about this facial wasn’t just that it catered to my exact epidermis needs, but that the treatment left me as relaxed as most massages. It’s not only the gentle facial and scalp massage that lulled me into a sense of total relaxation, but also because the treatment included delicately scented oils, which were applied to both my hands and feet. I left with radiant skin, nourished hands, moisturised feet and an incredible sense of wellbeing. Definitely a must-try.
