Kaya skin clinic review

If your skin’s suffering in the dessert, it’s time to reveal a brand new you. Here’s how…

Sand and sun are not your friend. Well, your skin doesn’t like them anyway. Here’s one way to sort your face out, Dubai-style…

We tried out Skin Polishing and Brightening at Kaya’s new skin clinic in Mirdiff.

Why: Living in Dubai with its dusty pollution and 360 days of UV rays means everyone's skin needs a pick me up, and regularly. Kaya's Skin Polishing and Brightening service answers all these needs. The service is a gentle one with no pain but plenty of gain - the stimulation of cell renewal, removal of the surface layer of dead skin cells, improving the skin texture and tone as well as giving a brighter complexion.

How long: Approx 45 minutes.

What it is: After removing all traces of make-up from the face, neck and décolleté your face and neck is treated to a polish, using the same technolgy as microdermabrasion but with ultra-fine crystals (non-toxic aluminum oxide). Afterwards extraction of black and white heads is performed (this can make your eyes water a little!) Following this, your face and neck is then treated to a deep massage using moisturizer and rose water. Finally you can chose between a whitening mask or a hydration mask. Applied liberally to your face and neck, you're advised not to speak or make any facial expressions during this time. After 10 minutes the mask is removed revealing a fresh complexion and super soft skin.

Aftercare: Since dead skin cells have been removed using crystals, you may experience a short period of redness, this will subside after a few hours. It is advised not to wash your face for 12 hours, avoid excessive exposure to direct sunlight for 24 - 48 hours also, and always use a suncreen with a minimum SPF 15 factor (which you should be applying every day anyway!!!) To maintain the results it is advised to book in for Skin Polishing once a month.
