Treatment of the week

Time Out checks the spring sensation at the Lime Spa at Desert Palm Hotel

Tried & tested

With so many spas in Dubai, it has to be a pretty special massage in a special spa to warrant a trip past Dragon Mart. Luckily, Desert Palm’s Lime Spa was definitely worth it. Arriving at the beautiful boutique hotel 30 minutes after I had set off from the Greens, I felt like I had been transported to another city as I entered the very quiet grounds of this small hotel.

A welcome glass of water with sliced lime (what else?) ensured that all I was thinking about was the spa’s new Spring Sensation massage I was about to have and what colour my mood was the treatment questionnaire.

Then, taken to a spa room with beautiful views of the lush green polo fields, my treatment began with a relaxing foot bath. Once this was over, I settled onto the massage bed for the soothing full body massage. The best part of this Spring Sensation package is the unlike most massages, this 90-minute treatment also includes a shiatsu pressure-point facial massage and a relaxing scalp massage, all of which left me feeling completely refreshed, relaxed and revitalised from head to toe. And, just as I thought it couldn’t get any better, the treatment came to an end with a mouth-watering lime sorbet.
