Landmark Group’s Beat Diabetes Walk announced

Annual walk raises awareness of diabetes in the UAE, taking place on November 24

Landmark Group has announced that the ninth edition of its Beat Diabetes Walk will be to be held at Creek Park on Friday November 24.

The 3km Beat Diabetes Walk is held annually to raise awareness among UAE residents about diabetes and the need to make healthy lifestyle choices. The walk will be followed by blood glucose testing and interested participants will get the chance to learn more about diabetes management methods.

The event isn’t just about the walk, though. There will be plenty of other fitness activities to take part in, including Zumba, yoga hosted by Landmark’s Fitness First and spot fitness challenges. There will even be dance routines to take part in, too. Kids will be kept entertained with a dedicated children’s sports zone, featuring a DJ and live entertainment.

In addition to the Beat Diabetes Walk, Landmark Group also raises funds for the cause through its 590 outlets. Money raised goes towards supporting diabetes research, awareness and education in collaboration with Al Jalila Foundation throughout November – World Diabetes Awareness Month.

“We are happy to once again support the wellbeing of the UAE’s community with our ninth Beat Diabetes Walk. We value the Beat Diabetes programme and the lives it has touched over the years,” said Renuka Jagtiani, Chairwoman and CEO of Landmark Group. “The Beat Diabetes Walk raises diabetes awareness, encouraging our community to live a healthy and active life. We look to UAE residents for their participation and presence.”
