Full moon yoga classes in Dubai

Five moonlit yoga classes to try across Dubai at the end of this month

Is there anything more relaxing than savasana under a gleaming full moon? We think not, and what better way to stretch out your body and clear out your mind than with full moon yoga session? Perfect your tree pose from the rooftop or practise your salutations in the sand with one of the classes below.

Fairmont The Palm
Exhale through the refined asanas (that’s technical for yoga poses) on the sands of the Palm while watching the full moon rise. The 90-minute yoga journey includes one-hour of yoga practise and 30 minutes of meditation, before admiring the spectacular views of Dubai Marina and the Arabian Gulf. Towels and water are provided, though you are encouraged to bring your own mat.
Dhs80 (per person). Sat May 26, 8pm-9.30pm. Fairmont The Palm, Palm Jumeirah (04 457 3330).

Full Moon Friday
This hatha flow session includes a blend of classical hatha and more challenging vinyasa movements designed to awaken your body and mind ahead of iftar. Following this, instructor Jo Arganaz takes to the mat with 50 minutes dedicated to Yin Yoga. The event ends with a liberating Himalayan Kriya Yoga energy clearing and dynamic meditation experience.
Free. Fri May 25 4pm-6.50pm. Building 1, Dubai Internet City, www.eventbrite.com.

Sofitel The Palm Resort & Spa
Feel the stretch, hear the waves and see the moon at Sofitel The Palm’s full moon yoga class. Yogi master Digvijay Singh (Diggy from Tattva Yoga Dubai) will guide you through a series of yoga flow and deep meditation aimed at all levels of ability. There will even be a “meditational walk” down to the venue. Participants are encouraged to arrive at SoSPA reception 15 minutes early (to avoid stressful vibes we imagine).
Dhs90. Tue May 29 7.30pm-9.30pm. Sofitel The Palm Resort & Spa, Palm Jumeirah (04 455 5434).

Talise Madinat
The full moon yoga at Talise Madinat takes place on the beach so you can lose yourself to the sound of gentle waves. The yoga guru will guide you through an hour of yoga that’s suitable for all levels. Plus, there are excellent views of Burj Al Arab Jumeirah.
Dhs99. Tue May 29, 7.30pm-9pm. Jumeirah Al Qasr, Madinat Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim (04 366 6818).

Yoga Fest
Watch the moon rise from the lakeside beneath beautiful palm trees in the heart of the city. The session starts with a gentle hatha yoga class, followed by yin and restorative yoga. The session will finish with Himilayan Kriya yoga as the new moon comes up.
By donation. May 25 4pm-7pm. Dubai Internet City Amphitheatre, Dubai Internet City (050 553 7765).
