there is a small handful of steakhouse brunches found across Dubai, and you may be wondering quite how a fine-dining experience would work once it’s been all... brunchified. This Dubai Marina feast is more in keeping with the current à la carte trend – and it’s a cracking night out if you’re planning a bash or soirée with friends and family.

Located in the Address Dubai Marina, this elegant steakhouse makes the Friday evening night brunch a classy and lively affair. With a live jazz singer crooning the night away, nailing the impression of the great Dean Martin, you’ll find a selection of starting plates laid upon your table, and it’s dominated by seafood. You’ll tuck into seared ají tuna, spicy prawns and oysters.

For the non-seafood lovers, there’s also beef carpaccio and a few different salads to try on the menu – but it’s not the most diverse selection for pure vegetarians (then again, nor is the overarching concept of a steakhouse brunch).

But the main course is the show stopper, with a range of top-quality steaks on offer – including tenderloin, which arrives on a sizzling hot plate, and gets our thumbs up. There’s pan-seared salmon and a pumpkin ravioli for non-meat eaters, although the salmon is a tad overcooked and suffers from some slightly over-eager salting.

Sides are on the starchy side, and would benefit from a bit more greenery on offer, but who can complain at having mac ’n’ cheese, fries and cheesy mash on the same plate?

And, while the menu might state just the one entrée per person, some of our particularly peckish dining companions were offered a second main course, which is an accommodating, and surprising, touch.

So, while this brunch is on the slightly pricier side of the market at Dhs495 for house drinks, you certainly get value for money – many a steak dinner in this city can cost more than Dhs250 just for the meat alone. Premium mixed drinks come included in the package, and they’re presented swiftly by the impeccable waiting staff who are nothing short of brilliant throughout the night.

As the evening gets on, the already packed restaurant gets busier, and significantly louder at that, meanwhile the singer’s repertoire becomes exponentially more singalongable, too (but not in a cringe sort of way, thankfully).

On the whole, for a great bit of posh dining in a loud and lively restaurant, make your way here this weekend.
