With practically every hotel and restaurant in town laying on brunch every weekend, options are wide-ranging. Whether you’re after bar bites and a boogie, or a lavish spread, you’re well catered for. But to be the best, a brunch needs to excel in every area. And that is what Traiteur Brunch does.

After more than a year out of the brunching scene, the former award-winner returned in early 2018 as part of the revamped dining area at Park Hyatt Dubai – The Promenade.

Taking place on the banks of the Creek – with views out over the sparkling waters and fancy yachts – Traiteur brunch has the ideal setting.

The brunch sprawls across Mediterranean restaurant Brasserie du Park and casual New England seafood spot NOÉPE, with tables spread out across the terraces of both – and in between.

And while some buffets can get a tad chaotic, there’s nothing stressful about this one. The location is delightful. It’s relaxed, yet chic and upmarket, with plenty of neutral, calming tones.

A live band plays throughout, with a range of mellow and more upbeat tunes.

Diners can wander through open kitchens in Brasserie du Park, choosing from traditional roasts to eggs Benedict and grilled lobster.

If you’re a seafood fan, you’re in luck. Mosey into NOÉPE, and be transported to Cape Cod. The curtains billow in the breeze and the room is decked out in blues and whites. It’s the perfect nautical spot – which is only enhanced by the spread of super-fresh seafood laid out.

Mixed seafood ceviche is served prettily in coconut shells, scattered with edible flowers, while there’s a massive platter of mussels on ice.

Lobster-lover? Silver salvers boasting tender, sweet crustacean meat are the star of the show, while there’s a huge variety of smoked and cured salmon and sashimi.

It’s some of the best seafood we’ve had at a buffet, and it’s a winning accompaniment to the waterside setting. Though for the price it should be – this isn’t a cheap weekend activity, starting at Dhs495 for soft drinks and ranging up to an eye-watering Dhs895 for premium bubbly.

From the mains the beef tenderloin is the stand-out – buttery soft and flavoursome, while pasta pearls prepared in a Parmesan wheel are creamy, indulgent and moreish.

The cheese table is unmissable, with a massive selection of excellent quality fromage and if you’re after something sweet the chocolatey crêpes are ace. The dessert room is visually impressive, but isn’t as tasty as the savoury selection, and is a little hidden away.

Although service when the brunch launched was a little shaky, the team seem to have addressed any issues, with staff being slick and attentive
(and we applaud the lack of unsightly wristbands).

For a special occasion with family and friends, you can’t do better than Traiteur. Go. Now.
