Brexit brunch to be held in Dubai at ICON Bar & Lounge

Guests will feast on baked beans and crisps – with the venue promising a "good deal"

Brexit brunch to be held in Dubai at ICON Bar & Lounge

When it comes to Brexit, good deals are seemingly hard to come by – but this EU-themed brunch on Friday March 29 will make sure you leave happy.

It's being held at ICON Bar & Lounge on Friday March 29, the date Britain was originally supposed to exit the union.

Guests opting for the non-EU package will be given British hops, a pack of crisps and baked beans for Dhs49 – while those going for the EU package will get unlimited food and drinks for Dhs179.

To add to the fun, staff will be dressed as key figures from the world of politics, with rumours that 'Boris Johnson' is due to turn up on a bicycle.

James Berry, general manager of Radisson Blu Dubai Media City, said jokingly: “I thought the good people of Dubai deserved a deal.

“There are a lot of deals but not all deals are good deals, but a deal is better than no deal unless the deal on offer is not a good deal.

“It is the last weekend in March and I was planning to leave for a couple of days but now I have decided to remain.”

In addition to the unlimited food and beverages, there will be a pop-up bar serving Irish pints in the lounge garden area. How's that for a backstop?

So, make your decision – are you going to remain for the full three hours, baked beans in hand – or leave?
Dhs49 (pint, crisps and baked beans), Dhs179 (house beverages). Fri Mar 29, 1pm-4pm. ICON Bar & Lounge, Radisson Blu Dubai Media City (04 366 9111).
