Looking to take a cultural dive into the local heritage and cuisine of the Emirates? Seven Sands’ at The Beach has a newly-launched event with your name on it.
JBR’s contemporary Emirati restaurant now has a brand-new “Cultural Brunch” serving up an array of authentic cuisine, along with talks with culture connoisseurs.
Taking place every Friday and Saturday from 11.30am, experts will offer their knowledge about the UAE, Arabic traditions and habits, all while guests tuck into traditional Bedouin dishes and much more.
The brunch is priced at Dhs250 per person, and set-menu experience (served for sharing Emirati-style) has no fixed end time, and will go on until the restaurant believes guests have got the most out of the experience.
That’s not all Seven Sands has to offer, as it’s launched a brand-new arabesque Majlis area overlooking the Arabian Gulf and Bluewaters Dubai, where diners can take on the “Emirati Culinary Experience”.
Taking place on weekdays during lunch and dinner and priced at Dhs147 per person, the experience comes with classic Bedouin dishes including harees, majboos and aishu lahem. Bookings of more than ten people will also get local entertainment including a falcon meet and greet, traditional henna and live performances by an oud player or Al Ayala dancers.
Finally, if you’re after more Emirati knowledge, the new “Cultural Dive” sees the restaurant partner up with Arab Culturalist, giving a presentation along with an open discussion about the intricacies of cultural differences and an exploration of the local culture.
All while enjoying a traditional Emirati meal in Seven Sands’ brand new traditional Majlis, of course. It’s priced at Dhs200 per person, and is available for breakfast (on weekends), lunch and dinner.
The guys at Time Out Dubai got a taste of what it was like to cook some traditional dishes at Seven Sands. Some were a little better than others…
