How many lobster claws is too many lobster claws? You might think that buffet brunches demand a tactical approach – but not so at Brasserie 2.0. There’s no need to fixate on getting your money’s worth from a few choice stations, because when the entire spread and overall experience is this good, it’s no question of value. It’s a question of how much give your gladrags have.

Set across a spacious indoor dining area and smartly appointed outdoor deck, Brasserie manages to marry a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere (sans child-deposit area) with an upbeat, lively vibe. It’s not an all-out party, and while the live band set a few hips jiggling, the focus remains firmly on the food.

And why not? There’s heaps of it.

You may not need a map to navigate this one, but there’s an abundance of territories to explore. King among them is fully-loaded counter of seafood on ice, featuring piles of prawns, lobster, cigale, crab and co., all of it fantastically fresh.

Just adjacent, the sheer volume of burrata dishes is something to behold. Here, that most ubiquitous of Dubai foods occupies almost as much square footage as the average studio apartment. And it’s top stuff.

There’s a none-too-shabby selection of salad too, but – let’s get real – you’re not here for that, so slide on over to the sushi rolls and build-your-own tacos.

There are more fun finds outside, including a smoky section dedicated to proper sausages and ribs, plus a big ol’ live brisket station and seafood grilled to order.

A couple of themed drinks stations are dotted around, but nothing excessive. It’s very much in the vein of a wonderfully upbeat long lunch, rather than a mixology expo inspired by the last days of Rome.

It’s the kind of balance that this place nails across the board, and makes it such a constant hit. Birthdays, visitors, or just because it’s Friday – Brasserie 2.0 is the number one pick.
