The Irish Village reveals date for 2018 Christmas tree lighting

There'll be two choirs as well as mulled grape and home-baked mince pies

Christmas 2018

There are just 65 days to go until Christmas in Dubai, and we're counting down – with festive hotel deals to book, plenty of presents to buy and a whole load of traditions in store, we just can't wait.

Even better, The Irish Village has just revealed the details of its Christmas tree lighting ceremony and it's going to be a big one.

Two choirs will be performing traditional carols at the mega event, which is being held on Monday December 3 at the popular bar in Garhoud.

Mulled grape and home-baked mince pies will be served to the crowd during the switch-on from 7pm to 10pm.

Families are encouraged to bring along their children for the festive spectacular. Here's a peek at what to expect from last year's event:

Later in December, The Irish Village will be running its 12 Days To Christmas countdown, with a three-course meal available from 12 noon until 11pm every day.

The menu will feature the traditional roast and trimmings as well as Christmas pudding and it's an absolute bargain.

Then on Monday December 24, DJ Marky Mark will be spinning out the festive hits to chime in the big day.

On Christmas Day itself, there will be a big lunch with a carvery and festive buffet offering all those foodie favourites for Dhs199 per person.

There'll be live music and even a visit from Santa himself, with children below the age of 12 getting a gift along with their lunch for Dhs99.

After all, he needs to warm up after all those months in the cold of the North Pole somehow.

Across Dubai, there's loads going on for Christmas. Keep an eye on our festive hub for all the latest details on everything from hotel deals to our favourite Christmas traditions.

Free entry. Mon Dec 3. 7pm-10pm. Next to the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium, Garhoud (04 282 4750).
