Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony returns to Fairmont The Palm

You’ll be dashing through the sand to Fairmont The Palm, as it’s already getting ready for its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony this December.

On Monday December 9 you can watch the hotel’s tall festive fir light up, and can expect Santa dancing away at his musical grotto, free Christ-mas treats and plenty more.

Taking place from 5pm until 7pm, the merry event will be joined by one of the best kids’ choirs in Dubai singing live carols. They’ve been trained by Dubai Performing Arts (DPA), so expect good tunes.

Families can meet the big man in a red suit at his musical grotto, while Cinderella and her entourage will be making a special guest appearance for those family snaps.

The hotel will be offering festive treats and soft beverages, along with gingerbread making for the little ones. As for parents, there will be mulled grape, hot chocolate and eggnog at Mashrabiya Lounge to sip on.

More than 2,000 visitors and residents saw the tree lighting last year, so be on time. The official Christmas tree lighting will take place at 6pm sharp, so get down early to find yourself a spot.

Dubai is already feeling that festive cheer, with major events such as the QE2’s Christmas wonderland already being announced. For more about Christmas, click here.
