The Big Buffet

One of the best buffet spreads in the city, you can’t go wrong at this glam bumper brunch. Serving up everything from a full roast dinner to a massive seafood counter, if you like the finer things in life this buffet could be a top choice for you and your gang.

If you’ve heard of Friday brunch, then you’ll have heard of this massive buffet. With more than ten live cooking stations across three new restaurants – Sui Mui, Baba and Mina’s Kitchen – there’s heaps to choose from. Mountains of cheese, rows of potatoes and a huge assortment of festive desserts. This one will cater for everyone, plus winter is the best time to sit out on the terrace and enjoy the live entertainment.

There are few things that scream “Christmas in Dubai” than a beachside Christmas lunch. The Ritz-Carlton Dubai’s Caravan restaurant throws an excellent festive brunch and it’s all set in the pretty gardens of the hotel, with the beach and Arabian Gulf within your sights. There’s live entertainment on the terrace, heaps of dishes from chilled seafood and sushi to traditional roasts and a massive cheese counter – and don’t miss those desserts. It’s family-friendly, too as there’s a special buffet for the little ones as well as a bouncy castle, face painting, balloon animal making and games galore. Nothing says luxury at Christmas than at a hotel literally named Palace. The hotel’s all-day dining restaurant is throwing a massive gourmet buffet this year with turkey and traditional dishes, as well as modern cuisine – think mezze, curries and more – all set to a live band. Plus, if you book before December 15 you’ll get 15 percent off, which is not to be sniffed at.

Flow Kitchen

This family-friendly brunch at Fairmont The Palm is offering whole smoked salmon and Christmas turkey with all the trimmings. And if you have a sweet tooth make a beeline for this (via your dentist) as there are mincemeat tarts, panettone bread pudding, festive gingerbread cookies and more. Plus there’s a visit from Santa to look forward to if you’re dining with the kids.

Jumeirah Al Qasr
This is one of the most famous brunches in Dubai, and with good reason. Jumeirah Al Qasr goes all-out every week, but no more so than at Christmas. And if you have visitors in town who like copious amounts of food, this will impress. Set across its own private beach, this brunch has a massive spread of Christmas treats with dishes coming from The Hide, Arboretum and Al Hambra. The hardest part will be choosing what to go for first, we recommend doing a full lap and choose wisely before you end up too full for pud.

Fancy getting away from it all this year? Take a trip out of the city and head to Hatta for a family-friendly Christmas brunch. JA Hatta Fort Hotel is throwing a massive buffet with a carving station with traditional stuffed turkey, salmon dishes, a seafood bar with poached prawns, octopus and mussels and classic desserts. Santa will be around for a visit too, so don’t forget to be nice.

This all-day dining eatery’s name means welcome in Tahitian, and it’s greeting the festivities this year with a range of Christmas treats. Oysters? Tick. Caviar? Tick? Roast dinner? Tick. Live music comes from singer-songwriter Lisa Goldin, while there are also loads of kids’ activities to check out, including face painting, bake your own gingerbread and a meet-and-greet with the main man – Mr S. Do you want to build a snowman? Sorry you can’t actually, but Raffles is transforming to a winter wonderland ,which is as close as you’re going to get in this weather. With heaps of cheese, loads of seafood, live cooking stations and of course a carvery, you’re all set for a super festive feast. Not a fan of Christmas pud? Just let it go.

The Irish Village
Pub lunch for Christmas dinner? Yes, please. Time Out Dubai’s Pub of the Year 2019 has revealed its big Christmas Day celebration, with a visit from the jolly man in the big red suit, a festive lunch and live Christmassy tunes to get you grooving to that jingle bell rock. Santa will be coming to pay a visit to all families, along with handing out special gifts to little ones aged two to 12. Dig into a buffet including a full carvery.

The Market
Gather the gang as the Festive Family Feast will offer up three and a half hours of classic Christmas grub, plus drinks, a huge kids’ buffet and supervised area, plus there will even be a visit from Santa, who’s bringing gifts for the little ones. There are 40 different types of desserts, including what’s being described as Dubai’s “biggest panettone cake” as well as a huge Christmas buffet. There will also be a live band singing all of the classic Christmas tunes, so get ready to belt out a bit of Mariah Carey or Slade. A top choice for families as this picked up a Highly Commended gong at our Time Out Dubai’s Kids Awards Best Family Brunch 2019.

The Restaurant
Roast turkey in the shadow of Burj Khalifa? Now you know you’re in Dubai (in case you didn’t before). For a traditional feast then the restaurant at Address Boulevard could be for you – especially if you’re a fan of beef Wellington. The venue is promising a tasty version of the classic dish, as well as roast turkey, live stations and more. Plus Santa will be on hand to entertain the kids.

This party brunch has had a festive make-over for Christmas – and is set poolside at Aqua for an extra twist (just think of the ‘gram while your mates are freezing at home). There will be live entertainment from a DJ, a saxophonist and dancers to keep you bopping, while there will also be ten live cooking stations and loads of beverage stations so you won’t run out of choice. There’s even a post-brunch party at Vault for sky-high Crimbo views.

It’s time to party, Christmas-style. One of Dubai’s most famous and longstanding party brunches has a whopping Christmas Day event to get you rocking around the Christmas tree. There will be loads of live cooking stations, free-flowing drinks and of course a live DJ to get you up and dancing. BiCE Ristorante
If you love traditional Italian dishes, then this is a Christmas dinner for you. Head to this BiCE on JBR – where you’ll get a three-course sharing menu. Plus, kids under six get a free meal. Now that’s a present.

This Mediterranean spot in DIFC is whipping up a special à la carte menu with three-hours of unlimited drinks. Tuck into plates of festive food for Christmas Day, Eve and any other day of the week until January 18, 2020.

COYA Dubai
A Time Out Dubai award-winner, Peruvian restaurant COYA Dubai is setting up a limited-time festive à la carte menu, with main courses including pollo asado, hombre de cordero, flan de tenera a la parilla. In fact, festive celebrators will have to pre-order the menu 72 hours in advance. Pretty special.

This Michelin-starred New York restaurant is serving up an Italian Christmas dinner, so if you have family in town and your skills in the kitchen are limited to chopping Brussels sprouts – then give this one a go. The meal includes ravioli in a rich chicken broth, roast turkey and lamb, and panettone – a classic Italian dessert. See page 34 for more.

Marina Social
At a restaurant from a Michelin-starred British chef, you’d expect nothing less than ten out of ten for potatoes, and you’re in lucky. Sure, you’ll feel a million miles away from Blighty as you sit on the al fresco terrace overlooking the Marina in your party hat, but you’ll be happy enough digging into your Christmas pud.

Prime68 Steakhouse
Carnivore with a head for heights? You can’t really get better than this sky-high steakhouse then. Pick your steak and admire the view.

MasterChef, The TV Experience
You don’t need to be a fan of the global TV show to enjoy this one. The food here is excellent and you’ll be treated to a three-course set menu from top chefs.

If you’re a seafood fan then this Mediterranean seafood dining spot is throwing a festive fishy feast. With an à la carte menu crafted by Chef Marco Garfagnini and set in the shadow of Burj Al Arab Jumeirah, if you don’t like big buffets this is one to check out.

This family-friendly restaurant wasn’t open last Christmas, but the idea of bowling and burgers, pool and pints on Christmas Day sounds top-notch to us. We’ll be the ones on the surf machine before lunch.

Splashing out

Al Mahara
It’s Christmas – it’s time to treat yourself. And where better to do that than at Burj Al Arab Jumeirah? You can celebrate the festive season at Al Mahara, set next to the massive aquariums. What’s more special than that? Present enough, we say.

Park Hyatt Dubai

One of the classiest spots in the city, this chic hotel has a super-fancy brunch this Christmas. We’re not saying it comes cheap, however, it’ll set you back more than Dhs1,000 for premium bubbly, but if you’re looking for a stellar brunch you know where to go. With a room full of fresh seafood, loads of roasts and one of the most impressive cheese spreads in the city, there’s a reason it’s our Best Brunch 2019. One for the bucket-list
