Christmas comes early at McGettigan’s Dubai

Huge festive season kicks off on Sunday November 26 with a range of events

It’s nearly November, which means it’s time to start planning your turkey prep, get the box of decorations out from hibernation and get ready to start hearing festive songs unseasonably early.

Now, one of Dubai’s top expat bars – that’s McGettigan’s, by the way – is getting ready for the Christmas festivities with its annual Christmas lights party coming to three of its UAE outlets at the end of November.

By heading along to either McGettigan’s Souk Madinat on Sunday November 26, DWTC on Tuesday November 28 or JLT (which just so happens to officially be the world’s best Irish pub), you can get involved with some mega Christmas bashes to kick off the season.

All bars will have Santa turning on the Christmas lights, JLT will have carol singers out, and all branches will have some complimentary, home-made mince pies to tuck into along with some classic mulled grape. McGettigan’s JLT will even be showing classic Christmas comedy Elf on November 29.

Throughout the season McGettigan’s will be running its weekly live music entertainment schedules but with a festive twist, including a variety of ladies’ nights at all of its branches.

Elsewhere, the JLT branch will be hosting its annual Christmas jumper party on Thursday December 14 – where anyone wearing a Christmas jumper will win a free drink – plus the Jingle Bell Brunch on Friday December 8. The brunch will have a festive-themed buffet with turkey, ham and all the trimmings plus an à la carte menu to choose from.

Christmas Day itself will also offer a variety of meals, buffets and feasts:

Unlimited house beverages, festive buffet, roast turkey, à la carte menu and home-made Christmas pudding. Dhs399, noon-4pm.

Madinat: Three-course meal with roast turkey and all the trimmings plus a choice of five free beverages or unlimited. Dhs349 (five house beverages), Dhs399 (unlimited house beverages), noon and 4.30pm.

DWTC: Three-course meal with roast turkey, all the trimmings and five house beverages for Dhs279 or Dhs349 for unlimited. Noon-10pm..
