It might only be the start of November, but the festivities are already kicking off. Here are some events, from tree lightings to spa treatments to get you in the mood for Christmas.

Do the Santa Shuffle
A monster 15-hour tour of three Dubai bars is taking place on Friday November 17, entitled the Santa Shuffle.

The event, which kicks off at Jekyll & Hyde in DIFC at 11am, where the Santas will get given five drinks vouchers and bacon sarnies. It then moves to The Scene in Dubai Marina for another five vouchers, served up between 2pm and 5pm. Vouchers can be used to purchase drinks or some special Christmas-themed sandwiches including a pulled turkey leg and brie bap. Finally have your last five drinks and some Asian street food at Mr Miyagi's.

Christmas tree lighting at Al Bahou
A huge 20ft tree is the star of the show at the Mövenpick at Ibn Battuta Gate. Head here on December 5 for a grand lighting ceremony. They’ll be carols, festive treats and more.

Afternoon tea at Aspen
This festive feast is the perfect pick-me-up after a spot of Christmas shopping. Enjoy some seasonal goodies, and there’s even a visit from Santa.

Gingerbread house decoration at Manzil Downtown
Get the kids involved in something creative, by decorating their own gingerbread houses. They can load up the edible houses with plenty of brightly coloured sweets and then admire (and eat) their handiwork.

Festive treatment at The Heavenly Spa
Need to chill out? The Heavenly Spa has peppermint and hot chocolate treatment especially created for the festive season. Start off with a 50-minute peppermint infused massage before relaxing in a bathrobe with a warm mug of hot chocolate.

Christmas tree lighting at Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa
Get in the festive mood with a tree lighting at this desert resort. As well as the big light up, there will also be Christmas carols, complimentary festive bites (including ginger bread, festive pies and cookies) as well as hot chocolate. Santa’ll be there, too.
