Give blood and donate clothes

Download a Ramadan app
Eton Institute has created a Ramadan app packed with cultural tips, daily phrases, a glossary of terms and more to help educate expats on Arabic culture.

Night safari and stargazing
Dubai’s Single Westerners 30+ community social group meets to head out on a night safari desert excursion with Platinum Heritage tour company.

Dubai’s Shisha Lovers community group gets together for shisha and nibbles at Tche Tche. Free, attendees pay for their own shisha and refreshments.

Community yoga class
Attend an ashtanga yoga class, raising awareness for Adopt-a-Camp. All proceeds from the class fee will be given directly to the cause.

Saturday 3

Lego Robot meetup
Dubai’s Lego Robot Makers club is open to people who like to build things, from Lego Mindstorms robotics to open source 3D printers and beyond. They get together today to socialise with like-minded individuals. Free, attendees pay for their own meal. Chili’s, Mall of the Emirates, (no number).

Cat and kitten adoption day
Every Saturday, The Animal Project hosts a feline-adoption day in order to find permanent homes for abandoned pets. They are also in need of fosterers to help out during summer.

Make your own greetings cards
Can’t find an appropriate card in the shops? Dubai’s Doodleclick online service allows you to create your own and then prints and sends by courier to arrive (anywhere in the UAE) the next day.

Double your donation to the World Food Programme
WFP is campaigning to highlight the number of people around the world who go without food. For every dollar donated through the website, Rotary Clubs of the UAE will match the amount.

Rent books for summer
Online book rental club Reader’s Paradise offers thousands of titles, across genres including autobiographies, history, horror and many more. There are no due dates or late fees and books are picked up and dropped off.
