If you haven’t noticed it already, video is taking over the Internet.

Facebook and Twitter were the first social media platforms to become more video-centric but now it’s Instagram's turn to pull out all the stops and attempt to dethrone YouTube as the ‘king of video’(and we haven’t forgotten about Snapchat either).

On Tuesday, Instagram introduced a personalised channel called "Videos You Might Like" that collects footage from across the platform’s global community and puts it together into a seamless viewing experience.

The personalised channel will live on Instagram's explore page, where you can find photos and videos you might like from accounts you don't yet follow.

As avid Instagrammers ourselves, we've decided to offer our readers some of the coolest and funniest Dubai-themed videos the Time Out team has come across.

And in case you’re wondering, we'll soon be following in the footsteps of the trendiest Instagrammers in the city and posting our own content, so don't forget to follow us!

Here's our list of 10 must-watch Dubai Instagram videos:

If you're wondering if professional thrill seekers XDubai inadvertently dropped their GoPro from the top of Burj Khalifa, think again! The camera was attached to the head of one of their fearless base jumpers (gulp!) and the POV is simply out of this world.

One of City Walk's coolest murals comes to life in this eerie montage.

What better way to learn more about Emirati culture than through comedy? Abdullaziz Bin Baz makes his 3.3 million roll over with laughter with the satirical and humorous videos he posts on his Instagram profile.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai is a tour de force on social media. Two of his biggest interests are adventure sports and photography/videography, which put together make for a very impressive Instagram profile. Best of all, his 13.7 million followers are often offered insight into his family life.

This Dubai Instagrammer's love for horses makes for some fascinating videos, whether it’s taking his stallions for a swim at the beach or just chilling with them in his living room.

If you’re after professionally shot video, the filmmakers behind Instagram profile awesomeemirati offer snippets of their amazing work, usually filmed with some of the latest gear on the market, drones and camera dollies galore.

Another Dubai-based comedian worth following is Thabit Al Mawaly, whose sketches are cleverly staged, shot and easy to follow even if you don't speak Arabic.

Here's one for the sports lovers to follow. Dubai-based gymnast Gemma Cheung defies gravity and human strength in most of the videos she posts to her Instagram profile.

Another awesome video by XDubai, this one showing some of their pro skaters cruising through a pitch black car park using flares to find their way around.

You can’t beat a good ol’ timelapse of Dubai. Here's one to remind us of just how cool it is to see our city in motion, especially with a breathtaking sunset as a backdrop.
