The UAE government has just announced private sector workers will get the first two days of the month of Shawwal off work, expected to be July 6 and 7 but still depending on the moon sighting.

According to Saqr Ghobash, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, these will count as paid holiday days.

As for public sector employees, they will get a week-long holiday starting on Sunday July 3.

This will mean public sector offices, from Dewa to RTA, will be closed for a week.
