Luxury apartments replace Dubai Marina Yacht Club

350 luxury apartments replace one of Dubai’s beloved social hotspots

Where once the Dubai Marina Yacht Club stood, a new luxury apartment block will rise.

Back in October, Time Out Dubai reported on the imminent closure of one of the city’s legendary haunts. The Yacht Club was the home to sports bars, cracking brunches and celebrated spots for a bit of grub, but all commercial or F&B activities closed down back in January.

At the time, word on the street suggested property developer Emaar was planning an exciting revamp of the yacht club.

Emaar told Time Out Dubai, “Emaar is developing a new hospitality concept that will also feature a world-class yacht club in the current location of Dubai Marina Yacht Club in Dubai Marina. Work on the project is scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2017. As part of this exciting new development, Dubai Marina Yacht Club will only provide marina-related services to its berth holders but from a different office in The Address Dubai Marina hotel after January 2017.”

There’s now news emerging that the old Dubai Marina Yacht Club will be the new home to 350 apartments with little indication any new hospitality or commercial premises will exist where the social hotspot once stood.

Luxhabitat is promoting the new project, AKA The Vida Residences, and positioned the development at the premium end of the market.

“350 apartments present a range of exclusive opportunities to live a combination of prime location, luxury and contemporary lifestyle,” it said. “Price on application. Very limited availability.”

Vida Residences will be a 50 floor block featuring one to four bedroom apartments. Work is expected to be finished in mid-2020.
