Careem announces Ramadan donation pledge

All UNHCR donations will be matched by the ride-hailing app

Area Guides

Careem has announced it will match any and all donations made to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees by its passengers throughout Ramadan.

Passengers travelling with Careem will be able to request a ride as per usual for the next month, but there will also be a special ride option which automatically adds Dhs3 on to the bill, all of which will go directly the UNHCR.

Separately, passengers will be able to donate to the UNHCR through the Careem app, and the ride-hailing app has said it will double all donations as it seeks to help those most in need throughout the region.

From the start of Ramadan, users will be able to access the various donation functions in-app.
