Black Tap

We already know that Dubai is smashing when it comes to food – and art. Combine the two and you’ve got a treat for all the senses.

Black Tap
The restaurants at Jumeirah Al Naseem and Rixos Premium Dubai are both kitted out by Dubai art store Drawdeck, which used artists such as db Waterman, a collage artist based in Amsterdam, and BrainFlu, a Jordanian artist, to help with the graffiti work.
Open Sat-Wed, 11.30am-midnight; Thu-Fri, 11.30am-12.30am. Jumeirah Al Naseem, Madinat Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim (04 422 9904); Rixos Premium Dubai, JBR, www.blacktapme.com.

COYA Dubai
The Peruvian restaurant is getting ready to welcome another celebrated artist to its restaurant walls this month. Beyond: A Myth of Light and Dark by Dr. Hussein El Ezaby, will be exhibited in COYA from Monday January 21.
Mon Jan 21-mid March 2019, open Sat-Tue 12.30pm-4pm, 4pm-1am; Wed-Fri 12.30pm-4pm, 7pm-2am. Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach, Jumeirah  (04 316 9600).

The theme of the kaftan runs throughout this restaurant, with the colourful garment framed and hung on the walls and artist impressions of it decorating the space. Throw in views of the Burj Al Arab and some stunning Turkish food and you’re onto a winner.
Open daily 9am-midnight (Umm Suqeim). Other location: La Mer, Jumeirah 1, www.kaftan-restaurant.com.

La Cantine du Faubourg
Expect to marvel over works of art while nibbling on your foie gras, with regular shows and ever-changing exhibitions constantly gracing the walls.
Open Sun-Wed noon-2am; Thu-Fri noon-3am; Sat noon-6pm, 8pm-2am. Jumeirah Emirates Towers, Trade Centre area (04 352 7105).

Maisan 15
Formerly known as Cabin, Maisan 15 is a dedicated art café. Previously owned by British artist Jonathan Gent, who also had a studio in the venue, there’s plenty of top artwork, even some from famous names, on the walls.
Open daily 8am-11pm. Maisan Towers, Barsha South (04 2447291).

Tasty French food with eclectic artsy décor. Admire collections in the restaurant’s frequently updated art gallery before turning your attention to the food menu – which is a work of art in itself.
Open daily noon-2am. Building 6, Dubai Design District, Business Bay (04 2454700).

XVA art Hotel & Café
There’s an interesting roster of exhibitions on display plus stalls selling bespoke art here, plus a menu serving sandwiches, salads, breakfast and burgers.

Furter afield
