NYU Abu Dhabi Art Gallery reveals new sculptures

With the summer heat kicking in, it's an excellent time to head indoors and see some art – especially considering the new sculptures on show in Abu Dhabi.

Project Space in the Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi Art Gallery is opening up a brand new collection today (Tuesday June 11).

Rand Abdul Jabbar: Earthly Wonders, Celestial Beings is a display of sculptures that transcend geographic boundaries.

The collection is a result of Iraqi artist Jabbar’s research into the cultural and architectural heritage of Iraq, with a particular focus on its ancient Mesopotamian past.

The collection will officially launch with an opening reception at 5.30pm on Tuesday June 11 and it will continue to be open from Saturday to Thursday between 3pm and 10pm.

The gallery is free to enter, but you only have until June 29 to go and check it out.

You can find out more by visiting www.nyuad-artgallery.org.
Free. Until Jun 29. Sat-Thu, 3pm-10pm. The Arts Center, NYU Abu Dhabi Art Gallery, Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi (02 628 6868).
