The two-day Quoz Arts Fest is coming back to Alserkal Avenue this month.
This will be the eighth edition of this cool cultural festival – the biggest in the region – and is taking place on Friday January 24 and Saturday January 25.
Best of all, you can go and check out the arts and culture extravaganza for free.
Taking place across the creative and industrial areas of Alserkal Avenue and the surrounding neighborhood, Al Quoz, you can look forward to art exhibitions, live music, contemporary dance shows, food trucks, outdoor art installations, film screenings, educational seminars and loads more.
The theme of this year's event is 'In Search Of...' and includes a free concert by regional band 47Soul, the exhibition New National Dish: UAE in which the Center for Genomic Gastronomy imagines the elements of a new national dish for the UAE and the London-based Block Universe will be showcasing performances by performing artists Egle Budvytyte, Alex Miritziu and Himali Singh Soin amongst others.
But that's not all. You can watch a contemporary dance performance by Sima Dance Company, enjoy The Reel Palestine Film Festival in collaboration with Cinema Akil, take in an exhibition of South African art, culture and cuisine and be mesmerised by The Short+Sweet Theatre festival at The Junction (the world's largest ten-minute play festival).
You can also grab some delicious food at the Good Vibes Market, listen to several talks on the regional creative economy organised in collaboration with Nuqat, try to escape a desert conservation room or simply relieve some stress at the Smash Room and turn scraps into art.
There are even activities for the littlest visitors such as art tours and workshops by thejamjar and Wisdom Warehouse.
