History fans will be pleased to hear that there’s yet another virtual activity to be enjoyed at home, as NYU Abu Dhabi has introduced a new socially distanced adventure.

The institute has launched its latest series of online lectures allowing us all to explore the ancient Arab world without leaving the sofa.

The lectures are made up of four talks on archaeology and history from across the Arab world and delve into the historical records of the region under NYU’s theme of Science, Heritage, and The Past.

The idea is to connect audiences with prominent speakers and ideas to keep them not only entertained but educated as they continue to stay home and practise social distancing.

There will be four talks, each by a different lecturer and all will help those interested understand the history and its interconnected status with our modern day through a series of talks that present everything from the eating habits of the Neolithic inhabitants of Abu Dhabi and what science is uncovering in the shifting sands of the southern Dubai desert, to the archaeological finds beneath the Arabian Gulf.

The special talks are available on NYU Abu Dhabi’s YouTube channel.
