Huge Dubai Duty Free sale returns this December

It’s the most anticipated time of the year… No, not Christmas. Dubai Duty Free’s annual December anniversary sale, which just so happens to coincide with the busiest time of the year for Dubai’s airports.

Taking place over three days, on Wednesday December 18, Thursday 19 and Friday 20, the retailer is offering a 25 percent discount on a whole range of products, from electronics to fragrances, beauty products to premium beverages.

Not among the thousands of travellers who will be passing through Dubai International Airport (DXB) or Al Maktoum International Airport (AMIA) during one of the busiest weekends of the year? Fret not – Dubai Duty Free’s sale also extends to its online store, with the exception of its Finest Surprise and Millennium Millionaire tickets, which will only be discounted on Friday December 20.

If you’re travelling through DXB this December, there are loads of ways to get into the festive spirit before your flight, from restaurant deals to spa specials.

This December, Giraffe World Kitchen is serving up a stonking-great turkey burger filled with cranberry sauce and gloriously melted cheese, for a seriously indulgent refuelling opportunity on your way to your festive destination. Not in the mood for a burger? Then sink your fork into a festive turkey katsu, featuring crisp, crumbed turkey piled on top of steamed rice, drizzled with katsu curry sauce.

Elsewhere, from December 5 onwards, The Daily DXB in Concourse B will be dialling up the festive vibes with decorations throughout and Christmassy specials on the menu. Pick up a pumpkin spice latte or iced coffee for Dhs20, an Italian panettone for Dhs18, or treat yourself to a specially themed festive mixed drink, with prices starting from Dhs50.

In the mood for a bit of pre-flight pampering? Be Relax is offering an impressive 20 percent off all services and wellness products in its Dubai International Airport branches – of which there are now two new locations in Terminal 3. That means there are now eight branches of the spa chain spread throughout Terminals 1 and 3, making that pre-Christmas manicure a more realistic goal than ever. (Let’s face it, you were never going to leave the office early on your last day of the year, no matter how well you might have planned the week.) Other treatments include back massages and a new zero gravity lounger in Terminal 3.

Finally, if you need a gift for the beverage connoisseur in your life, luxury drinks retailer Le Clos is hosting drinks tasting in all its stores, plus in marhaba Lounge in Concourse A. Shoppers can also pick up bottles of bubbly from US$28, and enjoy 20 percent of select brands.
Anniversary sale runs Dec 18-20. Dubai Duty Free stores in Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport, and online at
