Dubai International Airport launches PPE vending machines

Dubai International Airport (DXB) has launched personal protective equipment (PPE) vending machines to help passengers acquire essentials on the go.

Two vending machines have been installed – one in the departures area of DXB’s Terminal 2, and another in the departures area of DXB’s Terminal 3.

Each PPE kit dispensed by the vending machine contains a mask and a pair of gloves, and is priced at Dhs6, while there are also two types of sanitiser available (75ml and 60ml) costing Dhs9 each.

According to DXB, more products are set to be added to the machines in the coming days, including European-made and certified reusable face masks.

In addition to cargo and repatriation flights, which continued throughout the airport’s suspension of operations since March 24, DXB is now handling a number of scheduled passenger flights travelling out of Dubai.

Earlier this week Dubai’s Emirates Airline started taking bookings for flights to 12 Arab countries including Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia, and said it hopes to resume flights to these destinations from July 1.

The flights join destinations now serviced by Emirates from Dubai including Chicago, Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Melbourne, Milan, Paris, Sydney and Toronto.
