Zoob

A building set with a difference, the pieces in this award winner by Infinitoy move after you’ve put them together, so kids can play with their creations instead of just looking at them.

Model suggestions and instructions are provided, but the best bit, in our opinion, is exploring, inventing, and discovering how to build whatever you want. This moving, mind-building, modelling system encourages kids to create and learn using the most important tool of all: their imaginations.

Wedgits Junior Set

A series of vividly bright block shapes which nest, stack, link and wedge together in vertical and horizontal positions, Wedgits capture the imagination as kids explore and build. The shape and design possibilities are endless. Ideal for any child over three years, and for kids with special needs, Wedgits by ImagAbility encourage problem solving, critical thinking and cognitive development by exploring the concepts of shape, colour and size. They foster the development of creativity and fine motor skills such as grasping, coordination and manipulation.

Make ‘n’ Break Challenge

Winner of the 2009 Middle East Toy Fair for educational toy, this fast-paced construction game will pit friends and family against each other as they race to build the structures shown on the cards. Using only the tongs provided, this game requires concentration, sleight of hand, a strong nerve and speed. Make ‘n’ Break Challenge, made by Ravensburger, contains different levels of difficulty to match playing ability.

20 Models Engineering Series

Create a radar, an off-roader, a carriage, or one of 20 possibilities with this connecting model game. The multi-faceted rods and connectors let kids hook up six sides simultaneously, allowing them to build fast and easy, simple or complex models. There’s even a motor to power up some of the more sophisticated creations. Suitable for kids aged six to 14 years.

V-Tech Colour Note Book

A snazzy kiddie laptop, this new piece of kit from those clever folks at V-Tech includes great inventions, earth science, discover and exploration, foreign languages and logical games. With a customary keyboard and volume and contrast control, it gives kids the feeling of working with a real-life laptop – ideal for making your child feel at home if you sit behind your computer all evening.

BIG Traffic School Mega set

This set, which includes a ride-on car, adjustable racing helmet and highway signs, is perfect for budding drivers on the go. The car has a large, functional steering wheel, smooth wheel motion and a comfortable design that will let your kids turn your driveway into a highway.

Great for teaching your kids the fundamentals of road safety while walking around the neighbourhood or, while in the car, they’ll learn to recognise different road signs for different situations.
