Korean Film Festival 2019 coming to the UAE

Bored of the usual line-up of blockbusters? A new Korean film festival is coming to the UAE, and it’s bringing nine films all subtitled in English.

Held at Vox Cinema at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Mall from June 26 to June 29, the festival is organised by Embassy of the Republic of Korea.

A ticket for each screening costs just Dhs21 per person, so it’s about half the price of going to see one of the usual Hollywood hits.

The festival opens with Innocent Witness, a drama about a lawyer and his relationship with a teenage witness with autism.

Star of the film Lee Kyu-hyung will also be making a guest appearance before the screening to take part in a brief Q&A and signing event. It's free to attend – although priority will be given to ticket holders.

Other highlights include Korean film Romang, and the Emirati epic tale Nearby Sky, with the full schedule available online at k-filmfest.com.
