Sniper Reloaded DVD review

(TBA) US, Chad Michael Collins, Tom Berenger

This flick, about a soldier sent to hunt down those who ambushed his squad, goes through the dramatic action motions without failing, but it lacks any grit or originality. And, while we’re at it, it doesn’t really feature much ‘sniping’. In fact, the lead character hates snipers, thinking of it as lazy warfare, despite his father having been a famous sniper (daddy issues?). There are some decent action scenes: one in particular stands out (you’ll know which one we mean when you’ve seen the film), but the acting is fairly average and the plotline weak. That said, it’s set in Africa: the scenery is well showcased and the sound is top notch – so turn on your surround.
