Tom Cruise’s swanky spy lands in Dubai for another array of special effects-ridden hi-techery, only this time he and the rest of the espionage team find themselves out on a limb. After the Kremlin is destroyed by a terrorist bomb, the IMF (Impossible Mission Force) is closed down and all operatives are ‘disavowed’ while they go underground to clear their names. Cue a plethora of slick explosive sequences and one scene involving Cruise dangling precariously from Dubai’s sky-high tower, the Burj Khalifa. An unusual choice puts seasoned animation director Brad Bird at the helm.
