Will Tarsem Singh's return make amends for Immortals?

Tarsem Singh’s recent swords ‘n’ sandals smash Immortals was a crushing disappointment to those of us who had admired his previous film, self-funded fantasy The Fall. But the master of visual excess already has a chance to make amends with Mirror Mirror, a blockbuster take on the Snow White fable with Julia Roberts as the wicked queen, Lily Collins as the hapless princess and roles for the likes of Sean Bean, Nathan Lane and Armie Hammer. An end-of-the-pier pantomime which just happens to have a huge Hollywood star and stunning CG special effects.
